Clinique collaborated with Finnish design house Marimekko, and a beautiful new Clinique Pop line came forth from it. Let's take a look!
Marimekko for Clinique
Marimekko is a Finnish design house that's celebrated for its original and colorful prints. So it's a perfect match for the Clinique "Pop" collection, that revolves around color.
For the Clinique Limited edition collection there are 10 prints being used from Annika Rimala (Marimekko's best known ready to wear designer in the 60's and 70's). They represent some of the most recognizable and celebrated Marimekko designs of all time.
The Marimekko x Clinique Pop Splash Lip Glosses are available in 20 shades, each packed in a unique Marimekko print.
The Marimekko Lip Colour + Primer collection includes 10 shades. Of course also dressed in Marimekko.
Clinique Pop Splash Lip Gloss
Most brands limited edition collaborations are best selling products in a new limited edition box. But Clinique made a brand new lip innovation for this collab, the Pop Splash Lip Glosses! They're not just lip glosses but they also hydrate. The Pop Splash glosses have a very soft feeling, not sticky at all and they do really leave a hydrated feeling behind. I prefer this formula over the Pop Lacquer (read review here), these are super comfy to wear. The stay is about a few hours and they don't survive a meal. But I don't expect this from lip glosses. So overall: I am -yet again- fan of the Pop line, I think it's my favorite Clinique line.
Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer
It's not the first time I write about these, so you probably know them. Again super comfy lipsticks, with full coverage. I do really like the Pop lipsticks.
Marimekko for Clinique: shades and swatches
03 Sorbet Pop
Sorbet Pop and Spritz Pop are decorated with Marimekko's playful floral Kukka print (1965). Sorbet Pop is a peachy coral shade.
Spritz Pop
Spritz Pop is a beautiful pink "my lips but better" hue, my lips but better ànd more hydrated and glossier. It's a (little dusty) pink that can be rocked by all skin tones.
16 Watermelon Pop
Watermelon Pop is dressed in a Hedelmäkori (fruit basket) print (1964). The bright fuchsia color really pops off your lips!
14 Fruity Pop
Tarha (garden, 1963) is the name of the pattern used fro Fruit Pop. It's a combination of ornamental and stylized geometric forms. And it reflects the spirit of the early 1960s. Fruity Pop itself also suits the 60s, a gorgeous red lip.
Grape Pop (Lip Colour + primer)
The lipstick in color Grape, a muted pink/purple shade, is packed in a 'Keidas' jacket. Keidas means oasis and it's representative of the bold, rhythmic patterns of the 60s again.
Clinique x Marimekko Pop Splash Lip Glosses (€21,50)
Clinique x Marimekko Pop Lip Colour & Primer (€21,50)
If you like to -pop- on some lip gloss, these are for you! I like the non sticky, soft and hydrating formula and the beautiful range of shades. The Marimekko prints make these limited editions even more desirable.
What do you think about this collaboration?
