Today I have a special post for you. The first holiday collection I ever photographed and reviewed. I put a lot of love in this post (I always do, but maybe the tiniest bit more in this one), because the products are simply amazing. So guys, enjoy this magical, holiday post!
Are you already blown away by the collection? When I first saw this collection on a British blog I felt excited, happy and I was so impressed. The collection is stunning, there is no other way to describe it. I'm already spoiling the review, but every product is literally perfect.
There were a few other products in this collection:
A Terracotta bronzer with a white collector's edition case (like the blue one I showed you in the summer collection), a very special Rouge G lipstick in a snowy packaging. So pretty. And lastly, a gold eyeshadow and blush palette, also just gorgeous. If you feel like your wallet is too heavy, just go to your nearest Guerlain retailer, take a look at these products and your wallet will feel so much lighter when you come out of the store. That's just the Neiges & Merveilles magic - see I told you it's a magical collection!
Let's start with the smallest product, the nail polish in 903 Nuit Merveilleuse. It's a violet color, with colored shimmers, which gives it a violet-pink-red shine. It fully covers with two layers. The color on the nails should be exactly the color that you see in the bottle, plus a nice shine and shimmers. The swatches look more bright purple, but that's not accurate.
There are a lot of different météorites and Météorites Voyage Enchanté is a skin-perfecting illuminating powder. You can apply this after your foundation to set and mattify your make-up. It also should blur small imperfections.
The box looks amazingly pretty, the white flower combined with the cool silver really gives it that winter vibe. The box is also very heavy (actually, curious how much this weighs...) and fully made of metal. The powder is white and has a cute dotted print.
The texture of these météorites is very soft, it doesn't feel like any other mattifying powder I've tried. The powder can be used on any skin tone. I really like this powder for daily use, to set my make-up. It holds my make-up noticeably longer and it mattifies perfectly. (The swatches are heavy to show you the powder and effect, this is not how you apply it of course.)
Yes, this product is very expensive, but you can refill it. A pan costs around €50, like the compact powder.
Two pretty glosses in this collection! Well, one gloss and one maxi velvet.
The lip gloss is in color 902 Reflets Etoilés, and it's see through but has beautiful multi-colored shimmers. Perfect for the holidays, just perfect! You can apply this over any lip color as a top coat and shine at the Christmas table.
It was the first time that I tried a maxi velvet, so I was curious about what the effect would be. This color is M72 Fleur de Givre, a rosy red color - and a very Christmassy color. This actually is kind of a liquid lipstick, so I think that's pretty special for a high-end label. In effect it's not comparable to liquid lipsticks like the ones from The Balm. This one has, as the name says, a velvet effect and you don't see every line if your lips. It has a demi-matte finish and is just softer and more refined.
The Météorites Flocons Enchantés...
Just letting you enjoy a few shots of this gorgeous ball of goodness.
Hello, prettiest piece of the collection.
Aren't these météorites really enchanting? They haven't stole their name. The packaging is simply gorgeous. And by gorgeous I mean prettiest product in my collection. And to be fair, I can't even think of a prettier make-up product. The top half of the ball is decorated with a gold plaque inside with snowflakes. The outside is half white, like when it's freezing outside and the edges of the windows are frosted. The inside of the top half also has a mirror! The lower half of the ball has a gold band decorated with snowflakes and Guerlain written in it. But the real prettiness is inside, the fluffiest cushion with a gold bowtie (I feel so fancy when I use this!), and the little balls of powder. The little balls aren't pastel colored this time, but have champagne, white, beige and golden tints. And there even are little stars in it!
Can I rate this packaging 15/10?
These météorites contain a light-enhancing powder, and I have tried a few other météorites, but this one is different. The color is more beige than white and it has more (micro-)micro-shimmers to light up your face (or décolleté). As I said the little balls also have new colors:
Beige to egalise,
Champagne to illuminate,
and Gold for a subtle warm glow.
The change in tone was the first thing I noticed in the powder, as subtle as it may be. It's too pretty to use, but I already have used it a few times because I think these météorites are even better than the others (and you know how I love those). (Again: the swatches are heavy to show you the powder and effect, this is not how you apply it of course.)
Guerlain - La Laque in 903 Nuit Merveilleuse (€25,50)
Guerlain - Météorites Voyage Enchanté (€145,50)
Guerlain - Maxi Velvet in M72 Fleur de Givre (€31,50)
Guerlain - Gloss d'Enfer in 902 Reflets Etoilés (€31,50)
Guerlain - Météorites Flocons Enchantés (€69,50)
This collection is so good. From météorites to nail polish, all of the products are qualitatively great and very pretty. I have to say that my favorite brand didn't let me down (again). It's a stunning collection with a true winter, holiday feeling.
(The collection is available from today!)
I hope you guys like my photos, my first holiday collection photos!
Now I'm very curious about what you guys think about this collection. What's your favorite product?
